Spring in Seoul

Finally, Winter is leaving Northern Asia. The days are warmer, but the nights are still cold. It’s end of March in South Korea, and I eagerly await the beautiful few weeks of Spring when the cherry blossoms bloom.

I did a Spring work last year before I started this blog, and will post it up soon to commemorate the Spring season. This special work was done for Spring in Seoul.

Bon Bon and Nono are standing in front of the iconic Namsan Tower surrounded by the blossoms:



I drew new cherry blossom flowers for this work, as well as the petals.I added a soft white gradient in the petals that overlaid the pink. Flowers are truly nature’s best works of art.

This work was actually inspired by a photograph I took while walking up Namsan Mountain during the Spring in 2013:
